Blog Tour: DARK TOUCH by Aimee L. Salter

Blog Tour: DARK TOUCH by Aimee L. Salter

Welcome to our stop on the DARK TOUCH blog tour! This one is a special one for me because my BBF wrote it.  I fell in love with Aimee’s writing with her debut novel and basically kept emailing her until she promised to be my friend. (This is a nasty habit I have with authors I love, but it WORKS.)  Anyway, I’m so proud to be part of this tour today!     Excerpt 1 – Opening Pages / What’s at stake I think it’s because the first time Chris saw me, I wasn’t me. He saw someone who didn’t exist. And by the time he figured that out, he didn’t care anymore. He should have cared. He cares […]

Welcome to our stop on the WITH EVERY BREATH blog tour! Not only am I sharing my review with today, but you’re also getting an excerpt from this sweet story AND a list of Lia Riley’s Top 5 Heroines.  Whew! That’s a lot of stuff.  So sit back, read through all the goodness, and then enter to win your very own copy of WITH EVERY BREATH!       Her eyes widen. I can’t hold her gaze and say what I must. “Body‑to‑body contact.” The world outside rips apart, but in the tent, a heavy silence reigns. She shifts to a half sit. “Oh, no, it’s OK. Look, I’ll be better in a few minutes.” “You said […]

Book Review: ANOTHER DAY by David Levithan

Book Review: ANOTHER DAY by David Levithan

Posted October 19, 2015 by jenniferstrand in book review / 0 Comments

Like so many people out there, I loved EVERY DAY. I consider it one of my favorite books of all time.  When I heard that we were getting A’s story from Rhiannon’s point of view, I was nervous. With few exceptions, I dislike when an author writes the same story from another character’s point of view.  I can seriously only think of one time that kind of thing worked for me.  And this wasn’t it. The story lost most of it’s magic for me reading it through Rhiannon’s eyes. That being said, there was a bit of magic her perspective brought to the table, but all in all it wasn’t enough to make up for the […]

Blog Tour: BREAKING TACKLES by Erin Brown

Posted September 23, 2015 by jenniferstrand in blog tour, book review / 0 Comments

Welcome to our stop on the BREAKING TACKLES blog tour! My love for Erin Brown is well documented and I’m so excited to share my long rambling review of her newest story in the Taking Flight series. I’m not really sure how to review this book, you guys. Truth be told, it deserves more than my normal gushing review of how HOTT the hero was and how I’m crushing on the heroine. (Actually, now that I mention it. Adam is HOTT and I freaking adore Courtney, so…) No, this one needs me to put on my serious storytelling hat and share a story with you to properly convey how important this book is. This book starts of light and […]

Blog Tour: DELAYED PENALTY by Sophia Henry

Welcome to our stop on the DELAYED PENALTY blog tour!  We’re so glad you’re here.  We’re excited to share our review and an excerpt that contains one of my favorite scenes from this contemporary romance. “I hope you don’t think you’re going to sit on your butt your whole break,” Grandpa said. He punctuated his sentence with a quick snap of his newspaper. He’d done it to lift a falling corner, but he may as well have cracked an invisible whip. “Come on, Dedushka,” I said, stopping my arm midair and lifting my tired eyes from the milk dripping off the spoon to his customary stern face. “I just got home yesterday.” “And you start your job today.” […]

Book Blast and Cover Reveal: INTO MY ARMS and WITH EVERY BREATH by Lia Riley

Holy hotness melting on a stick!  Not only do we have an excerpt from Lia Riley’s newest Off the Map Novella, INTO MY ARMS, but we’ve also got the cover reveal for my newest Riley obsession, WITH EVERY BREATH. So sit back, close the door and enjoy all the organic goodness we could pack into one post. “Kiss me,” I challenge him. He twists around words and dances from truths. But he can’t evade body language. He gazes at me as if I’m something he’s never seen. “I tell you how I did a terrible thing, and you offer a kiss.” “There is much you aren’t saying, so maybe we need to streamline the conversation. […]

Blog Tour: HOW TO SAY I LOVE YOU OUT LOUD by Karole Cozzo

Welcome to our stop on the HOW TO SAY I LOVE YOU OUT LOUD blog tour! Be sure to visit all stops on this blog tour because not only are you going to see some epic blog posts, each blog is giving away a copy of this gem of a story. I freaking loved this book. Out loud.  Let me tell you why with a little story. This story is not about a boy with Autism. It’s the story of how having a brother with a Autism affects your life, or more accurately, about how you make decisions about how to live your life.  It brought tears to my eyes. (Those last three chapters required a half a box of hotel […]

Book Review: THE HISTORY OF US by Nyrae Dawn

Book Review: THE HISTORY OF US by Nyrae Dawn

Before I get to my review of this gem of a book, I need to give you a little background information.  For the past six-ish years, my reading has consisted almost exclusively of YA books of many genres. Contemporary, dytopian, paranormal, fantasy, etc.  Didn’t really matter to me. If it was YA and recommend by a trusted friend, it was mine. I’ve expanded into the world adult romance this year and have fallen in love with falling in love.  My favorite genre of romance might surprise you:  I LOVE M/M romance. The stories pull at my heart like no other genre ever has. So why am I telling you all of this right this very minute?  Well, THE HISTORY […]

Book Review: FOCUS ON ME by Megan Erickson

Book Review: FOCUS ON ME by Megan Erickson

Posted July 17, 2015 by jenniferstrand in book review / 0 Comments

Aaaand just like that: Megan Erickson has become an auto-buy author for me. I’ve been meaning to read this series from the day TRUST THE FOCUS, book one of this series, hit the streets.  When FOCUS ON ME came up for review on NetGalley, I jumped on the chance to move both of these books up to the top of my TBR pile.  I spent a whole weekend reading these books and drying my tear stained cheeks. I’m not going to get all mushy about how much I love Colin and Riley, even though I do love them. Madly.  Instead, I want to focus on the subject matter at hand: mental illness.  Yes, this is a love story. […]
