Book Review: THE REMEDY by Suzanne Young

Book Review: THE REMEDY by Suzanne Young

Sooo, I didn’t realize that there is a follow up to Quinlan’s story coming in the form of THE EPIDEMIC set to release in April 2016 until I got to the last page of this book. What the crap, yo! I gots to know the rest of the story. STAT.  Young doesn’t leave us on a cliffhanger, per se, but let’s just say you’ll be quite anxious to for the next book.  Think about how  THE PROGRAM ended. It’s kinda like that, only different circumstances. Obviously. I was SO AFRAID that this book was going to turn into the most bizarre love triangle in the history of love triangles. Matter of fact, it got so close to going too […]

Book Review: THE HISTORY OF US by Nyrae Dawn

Book Review: THE HISTORY OF US by Nyrae Dawn

Before I get to my review of this gem of a book, I need to give you a little background information.  For the past six-ish years, my reading has consisted almost exclusively of YA books of many genres. Contemporary, dytopian, paranormal, fantasy, etc.  Didn’t really matter to me. If it was YA and recommend by a trusted friend, it was mine. I’ve expanded into the world adult romance this year and have fallen in love with falling in love.  My favorite genre of romance might surprise you:  I LOVE M/M romance. The stories pull at my heart like no other genre ever has. So why am I telling you all of this right this very minute?  Well, THE HISTORY […]

Book Blast: NAMELESS by Jennifer Jenkins

Book Blast: NAMELESS by Jennifer Jenkins

I’ve been told, in a very serious tone I might add, by my friend Jaime that I HAVE to read NAMELESS by Jennifer Jenkins.  I gotta tell you that after reading the first chapter, I agree with her.  I’ll be starting this one soon! Take a peek at chapter one of this highly anticipated story and get it on your TBR pile. Chapter 1 Zo couldn’t remember a time when she didn’t fear the Ram. Even after the raid, when so much of her fear had turned to hate, the fear still existed beneath. It was a foundation that she came to rely upon. A constant. Sleeping under a fir tree so close to Ram’s Gate went against her very […]

Book Review: FOCUS ON ME by Megan Erickson

Book Review: FOCUS ON ME by Megan Erickson

Aaaand just like that: Megan Erickson has become an auto-buy author for me. I’ve been meaning to read this series from the day TRUST THE FOCUS, book one of this series, hit the streets.  When FOCUS ON ME came up for review on NetGalley, I jumped on the chance to move both of these books up to the top of my TBR pile.  I spent a whole weekend reading these books and drying my tear stained cheeks. I’m not going to get all mushy about how much I love Colin and Riley, even though I do love them. Madly.  Instead, I want to focus on the subject matter at hand: mental illness.  Yes, this is a love story. […]

Book Review: ALIVE by Chandler Baker

Book Review: ALIVE by Chandler Baker

Posted July 10, 2015 by jenniferstrand in book review / 0 Comments

Every once and a while, a book that is like no other book you’ve ever read falls into your lap. When that happens, you need to take that book and caress it to the point where a person peeping into your living room window may find your actions a little inappropriate. That’s exactly what I did with ALIVE.  I dare you to not do the same with this debut book by Chandler Baker. This is a tough book to categorize.  It’s sometimes sweet, sometimes thrilling, sometimes suspenseful and always creepy.  Heck, some parts are downright scary! (Do you know how hard it is to read with your hands over your eyes? It’s hard.)  Our girl Stella goes through […]

Blog Tour: YOU AND ME AND HIM by Kris Dinnison

Welcome to our stop on the YOU AND ME AND HIM blog tour! I knew this book was for me as soon as I read the synopsis–two best friends vying for the affections of the same guy with the added awesomeness in that one of the best friends is gay. YAY! I hope you’ll join me in picking this one up when it hits book stores next week!     Fictitious Delicious (FD): Pick a song by The Cure that best represents each of these characters: Maggie, Nash and Tom. Kris Dinnison (KD): Well, for Tom it would be “Boys Don’t Cry”. That song is all about a guy screwing up and wanting to say he’s sorry. But he knows […]
