Blog Tour: DARK TOUCH by Aimee L. Salter

Welcome to our stop on the DARK TOUCH blog tour! This one is a special one for me because my BBF wrote it.  I fell in love with Aimee’s writing with her debut novel and basically kept emailing her until she promised to be my friend. (This is a nasty habit I have with authors I love, but it WORKS.)  Anyway, I’m so proud to be part of this tour today!     Excerpt 1 – Opening Pages / What’s at stake I think it’s because the first time Chris saw me, I wasn’t me. He saw someone who didn’t exist. And by the time he figured that out, he didn’t care anymore. He should have cared. He cares […]

Welcome to our stop on the TO THE STARS blog tour! Not only am I sharing my review with today, but you’re also getting an excerpt from this intense story.  And it IS intense, guys.  It’s gonna make you feel all the feels.  Be sure to enter to win a copy of both books in the Thatch series AND a $50 gift card, too!         Just as she was leaning in for another kiss, she jolted and her eyes widened. “What’s wrong?” I asked when she didn’t say anything or move. “I think…” “What?” “Did a bird just poop on my head?” she asked in a horrified voice. I laughed loudly, and looked at her […]

Welcome to our stop on the GLASS SWORD blog tour! I’m barely coming down off my high from being asked to be a part of this amazing tour.  GLASS SWORD was one of my most highly anticipated books of the year and I am SO EXCITED to share my review with you today.       I know I’m not the only one that feels nervous picking up the sequel to a book that you loved.  Doesn’t matter who wrote it or what the series is, I cross my fingers and make a silent plea that the magic that moved me in the first book continues in the second book.  You guys know how serious second book syndrome is, […]

I can’t hold her gaze and say what I must. “Body‑to‑body contact.” The world outside rips apart, but in the tent, a heavy silence reigns. She shifts to a half sit. “Oh, no, it’s OK. Look, I’ll be better in a few minutes.” “You said […]

Book Review: ANOTHER DAY by David Levithan

Book Review: ANOTHER DAY by David Levithan

Like so many people out there, I loved EVERY DAY. I consider it one of my favorite books of all time.  When I heard that we were getting A’s story from Rhiannon’s point of view, I was nervous. With few exceptions, I dislike when an author writes the same story from another character’s point of view.  I can seriously only think of one time that kind of thing worked for me.  And this wasn’t it. The story lost most of it’s magic for me reading it through Rhiannon’s eyes. That being said, there was a bit of magic her perspective brought to the table, but all in all it wasn’t enough to make up for the […]

Book Review: INTO MY ARMS by Lia Riley

Book Review: INTO MY ARMS by Lia Riley

I’m not sure if I was more excited to read this book to learn more about Z or his million dollar fish.  Turns out Z is waaay more interesting than the fish. Thank goodness! We get to meet Z earlier in the Off the Map series and I gotta tell you,  I kinda pictured him as a cartoon character. He’s this mysterious guy that works at the tippity top of the tallest building in Whoville, er, Santa Cruz-ish area and we’ve seen him just enough to have this vague understanding of his phobia of touch.  I wasn’t sure if he was the equivalent of the Road Runner or Wile E. Coyote, but I thought he might have […]

Book Review: NOT AFTER EVERYTHING by Michelle Levy

Book Review: NOT AFTER EVERYTHING by Michelle Levy

If you’re looking for a feel good, fluffy read that will make you giggle like you’ve had too much cotton candy at the state fair, this is not the book for you.  This story is tough. It takes on the issue of suicide and even more explicitly, child abuse.  It’s chilling. It will beg to be put down and processed after certain scenes. It’s amazing. Let me be clear. If scenes of abuse to both children and animals are too much for you to read, you should probably skip this story. It’s pretty graphic.  And shocking. Yet, hopeful.  Tyler’s life is not pretty and Michelle Levy doesn’t poo-poo around that fact.  You get to not only see […]

Blog Tour: BREAKING TACKLES by Erin Brown

Welcome to our stop on the BREAKING TACKLES blog tour! My love for Erin Brown is well documented and I’m so excited to share my long rambling review of her newest story in the Taking Flight series. I’m not really sure how to review this book, you guys. Truth be told, it deserves more than my normal gushing review of how HOTT the hero was and how I’m crushing on the heroine. (Actually, now that I mention it. Adam is HOTT and I freaking adore Courtney, so…) No, this one needs me to put on my serious storytelling hat and share a story with you to properly convey how important this book is. This book starts of light and […]
